Radar measurement: Measuring Principle
Radar level meter works with high-frequency radar pulses which are emitted by an antenna and reflected from the medium surface due to a change of the dc value (relative dielectric constant). The Time-of-Flight of the reflected radar pulse is directly proportional to the distance traveled. If the tank geometry is known, the level can be calculated from this variable.

2. Almost all forms of corrosion and foam barely effect this radar, and while water vapor, temperature, and pressure changes in the atmosphere may affect it, the changes are minimal. -

4. The shorter wavelength allows the high frequency level meter to operate better while bouncing signals off of tilted solid surfaces.
